Boycott Bar is the only lesbian bar in Phoenix and one of the few left in the U.S.

      The bar offers dart tournaments, karaoke nights and reverse happy hour.

      Kobalt is a strong pick for drag, karaoke, and a solid patio. In February and March, the city’s general event calendar ramps up, which often spills into LGBTQ+ nightlife, too. This event typically features a parade live music acts, dance events and activities suitable for families.

      Phoenix is also home to one of the country's last-remaining lesbian bars.

      While some of the bars go all out for special events like Pride, all offer weekly events like karaoke, darts tournaments, open mic comedy, leather club, watch parties and dance parties all year long.

      This is a bar owned and operated by gay men, for gay men.

      It features a parade live performances, delicious food stalls and community booths drawing a large crowd each year.

    • Tucson Pride; Another significant lgbtq+Q+ event in Arizona is Tucson Pride often held in September. Boycott is understated from the outside and inside cozy banquettes and high tops line the periphery of the open space where people dance the night away and sing karaoke.

      If you want Pride, aim for fall and book early. For daytime, Off Chute Too is a classic Melrose stop for queer shopping, and Brick Road Coffee in nearby Tempe is an easy meet-up spot for caffeine and community. Olivo who moved to metro Phoenix in 1976, spent years in the LGBTQ bar scene before opening his own bar in 2002. Many call it a "hometown bar," not unlike "Cheers."
