When Carl Nassib came out as gay during Pride Month in June 2021, he did much more than become the first active NFL player to be publicly out.
That made him the first NFL player to marry someone of the same sex.
Rohrer played for the Cowboys in the '80s and played in 83 games. The player would have a short stint with the Raiders before moving to the Florida Tuskers of the United Football League.

It was later that Wade Davis came out as gay and became the captain of the National Gay Flag Football League, the New York Warriors.
